Fed ID# 34-2018427. C4C has three dbas: Cause 4 Cats & Dogs, Just Cats Rescue, and Cause 4 Cats of Bakersfield.
We're located in Lebec, California. This is right off interstate 5, 35 miles north of Valencia/Santa Clarita, and 45 miles south of Bakersfield.
Adoption Days
We need good homes for cats and dogs, so please contact us if you can open your home to a new pet. Cats & dogs are shown for adoption in Bakersfield on Saturdays and some Sundays at the Petco on Gosford. In Lebec, adoptions are by appointment. For info on locations in the San Fernando Valley, please see the Just Cats Rescue website (www.justcatsrescue.org) Adoptive homes are screened, and all adopted animals must be sterilized. Adoption donation includes expenses for all vaccinations, deworming and spay/neuter by C4C veterinarian.
PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PETS! Call for low cost s/n information.
What are we doing for our community?
We provide sheltering for lost, abandoned and unwanted
animals
We provide spay and neuter assistance to local residents
We provide help with transportation to and from the vet
We provide assistance with lost and found pets
We provide assistance with adopting pets into kind, loving homes
We provide assistance with emergency veterinary bills for those in need
We have collectively rescued and adopted hundreds of cats in the mountain communities. The number of animals needing help will steadily increase as new homes are built and more cats are brought to the area.
What are our plans to improve services for animals and the
community?
To develop and implement a humane education program
To develop and implement a spay/neuter awareness
program
To create a humane law enforcement department
To extend and enhance our foster home program
Although local animal caregivers have united to pool resources and volunteers, there is still much to be done and not enough people or funds to do it with. A community problem requires a resolution from the entire community!
