MISSION STATEMENT

Cause 4 Cats is dedicated to improving the quality of life for CATS: pet, stray, and feral by providing TNR (trap-neuter-return), rescue, shelter, and coordinating spay/neuter (s/n) and low-cost veterinary care.

Cause 4 Cats is a California non-profit organization supported solely by private donations. We have tax exemption status with the IRS as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

We're located in Lebec, California. This is right off interstate 5, 35 miles north of Valencia/Santa Clarita, and 45 miles south of Bakersfield.

Adoption Days

Thanks to all who supported our adoption events on April 19th at Chatterpillar/Tecuya Feed and April 26 at Stage Stop Hay & Mercantile. We need good homes for cats and dogs, so please contact us if you can open your home to a new pet. We are caring for several litters of kittens too young for immediate adoption, but applications will be taken. Adoptive homes are screened, and all adopted animals must be sterilized. Adoption donation includes expenses for all vaccinations, deworming and spay/neuter by C4C veterinarian.

PLEASE SPAY OR NEUTER YOUR PETS! Call for low cost s/n information.

Whisker Contest Winners

Some participants are getting a really good "feel" for guessing the number of Kitty Whiskers in a jar. The actual number of whiskers was 1,308. Winners chose from the available prizes:

Tied for First Place with a guess of 1,250 were Steve Gore and Lilli Ann Edwards. Steve chose Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Milk products in a Sexy Hair backpack and Lilli Ann won three tickets to Kern Cnty Sheriff's Reserve Rodeo - Friday, May 2.

Following close behind guessing 1,233 was T. Talley who selected three Rodeo Tickets - Saturday, May 3.

The fourth winner with a guess of 1,150 was Allan Edwards who received Healthy Sexy Hair Pumpkin products in a stylish backpack.

The fifth winner was Peggy Berry. Peggy guessed 1,012 and received a selection of Sexy Hair products. Her guess inched out a number of people who entered a guess of 1,000.

We appreciate the support of everyone who participated in the contest and those who made cash donations. Thank you to the Caveman Cavey's, Chatterpillar and Tecuya Feed, and the Stage Stop for allowing us to hold the contest at their locations, and to Sexy Hair Concepts for the generous donation of hair products.

What are we doing for our community?

We provide sheltering for lost, abandoned and unwanted animals

We provide spay and neuter assistance to local residents

We provide help with transportation to and from the vet

We provide assistance with lost and found pets

We provide assistance with adopting pets into kind, loving homes

We provide assistance with emergency veterinary bills for those in need

We have collectively rescued and adopted hundreds of cats in the mountain communities. The number of animals needing help will steadily increase as new homes are built and more cats are brought to the area.

What are our plans to improve services for animals and the community?

To develop and implement a humane education program

To develop and implement a spay/neuter awareness program

To create a humane law enforcement department

To extend and enhance our foster home program

Although local animal caregivers have united to pool resources and volunteers, there is still much to be done and not enough people or funds to do it with. A community problem requires a resolution from the entire community!

How can YOU help right NOW?
